Colour photograph from original Kodachrome transparency.
Peterson was driving the prototype March 703 F3 car, Jaussaud a Tecno, Schenken the works/Sports Motors Brabham BT28, Beuttler a Brabham BT28 and Cyd Williams the Goodwin Racing Chevron B19.
This photograph shows the start of heat one, which Schenken won from Williams, Beuttler, Jaussaud and Peterson.
Ronnie had been running in second position when he got a left rear puncture and did well to struggle home in fifth place.
Tim Schenken also was victorious in the final, but was chased home by Howden Ganley in a Chevron B19, Peterson was third in an impressive debut for March, whilst a certain James Hunt finished fourth in his Brabham BT21!
This photo was actually taken by Mike O’Brien as a teenage spectator, so has never been published or shown elsewhere, and only very limited numbers of prints will be sold from the Speedsport Gallery.
This photograph is sold newly professionlly mounted and framed at the price shown.
